They are involved with challenging and complex projects in the residential, retail, office, health, education, defence and secure sectors, working under a variety of procurement routes, including design and build contracts and partnering.



This post requires the management of design on a wide range of projects including Education, Healthcare and mix use developments, typically from bid through to completion. Successful applicant must ensure all aspects of the Design Management procedures are implemented accurately.

You will be required to manage in the production of the contractors proposals, ensuring they are completed, unambiguous, and have been reviewed by the bid team and have been updated to include all post tender negotiations.

It is crucial that all design deliverables are reviewed to establish they are within budget, are fully co-ordinated and are buildable. The Design Manager must also design on site with the assistance of other site based resources through implementing the design management procedures to ensure the timely production of information.

Qualifications/Skills Required

The successful candidate will be of Graduate calibre with HNC/HND, degree or equivalent in a related discipline. They will also have the following skills and attributes: extensive experience within the Construction Industry; excellent inter-personal/communications and negotiation skills;
technical skills and knowledge (comprising construction materials, construction methods and technology, design, environmental legislation and issues, planning techniques, building regulations, procurement, management systems, temporary works, health and safety, risk management, life cycle costings, value engineering and value creation): in return you will be given an excellent basic salary and package within a truly progressive company.
