Job Description
Gallery 37 Plus project aims to increase confidence among young people and support them into careers or training in the arts and creative industries. The project has been developed and is being led in close collaboration with Gallery 37 Birmingham and five main regional partners in Bristol, Leeds, Roundhouse (London), Newark and Sherwood and Oldham; and four 'observer' partners in Bournemouth, Norfolk, Stoke-on-Trent and Tyndale.
The Local Officer will be responsible for:
Identifying local partners and building the partnerships with strategic partners and local delivery partners (e.g. Youth service providers, education providers, social services, community development, job centre/employment organisations, arts organisations, businesses)
Promoting the Gallery 37 Plus ethos and methodology.
Promoting the capacity-building programme to local partners and ensuring their participation.
Liaising with taster and developer providers.
Developing pilot workshops as and if appropriate
Managing the training and professional development of artists.
Identifying and securing appropriate venues for summer schools.
Managing the summer schools programmes
Liaising with appropriate authorities in relation to benefits, financial procedures etc
Ensuring health and safety
Gathering information for monitoring and evaluation
Progressing local accreditation
The Gallery 37 Plus Project Local Officer will also:
Promote and comply with current legislation and the Roundhouses policies on equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
Be responsible for identifying and undertaking training and personal development to meet business needs.
Fulfil, on occasions, other reasonable duties which may be required to be undertaken in other departments of the Roundhouse, in order to meet business and customer needs.
Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post so as to ensure the smooth running of the Roundhouse.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Understanding/experience of the impact of the arts as a catalyst for social and economic regeneration
Understanding/experience of developing accredited workshop programmes
Demonstrable knowledge of local networks and connections with delivery partners
Demonstrable experience of effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Demonstrable experience of creative thinking
Good administrative skills
Integrity, reliability, methodical working
A CRB check is required for this post.
