Our Client is one of the leading construction and civil engineering companies in the North of England.
They have been delivering major civil engineering and building projects for over 30 years. As one of the most successful privately owned companies in the North of England they have a commitment to consistently achieving high quality standards through teamwork.
The Company's turnover last year was in excess of £45 million and they work throughout the United Kingdom on projects up to a value of £10 million.
An HR Assistant is required by this client to assist in the continual development of employees and the recruitment of the best candidates in the regional market. This is very forward thinking company who place a large emphasis on continual professional and personal development, and as such they need an enthusiastic and innovative candidate to ensure they continue to improve both processes and standards.
The main duties will be to:
Develop and maintain people / communication networks throughout the clients organisation (including key company developments, contract wins, key milestones, completions etc); Maintain websites; Obtain company news / project information and write up into articles / data sheets (this could include the development + maintenance of an appropriate database); Author / edit monthly newsletter (internal) and annual review (internal and external); Check information held about the company on industry data sites e.g. Dun & Bradstreet, Fame etc and keep up to date; Maintain lists of external stakeholders – clients etc, for circulation of news information etc; Liaison between the company and Business in the Community; Development of Company Corporate Social Responsibility strategy using the BiTC Framework – Marketplace, Workplace, Environment and Community.
Qualifications/Skills Required
The ideal candidate will posses the following skills and /or attributes: Self motivation and an ability to effectively manage own workload; Sales skills; Excellent oral communication skills; Creative flair in written communication;Good listening and interviewing skills; preferably a relevant degree or equivalent experience within a similar role and an interest in/understanding of the construction industry; An interest in/understanding of the Corporate Social Responsibility agenda; be IT literate and posses good presentation skills
The successful candidate will also be working towards or looking to work towards their certificate in personnel practice. They must possess a current driving licence and be willing to travel to other offices and sites when required.
