Job Description

Junior Geologists required for a mining and exploration consultancy company working in various African countries but primarily in Sierra Leone in gold and diamonds. An energetic person who can show initiative is required to work with highly experienced Chief Geologist and Geophysicist of mining company. Will assist in developing policies and standards for the company's mapping requirements. Will be working in the field, on land and on rivers using cutting edge geophysics devices and methods. GIS skills are not necessary but will be highly regarded. Sierra Leone is a safe democratic, friendly and beautiful tropical country. Opportunity will be given for generous leave periods during and between contracts. Highly democratic management style practised. A comfortable base camp site has been established with VSAT communications and medical facilities, however periods in dense remote jungle areas with exploration teams will sometimes be required. Qualifications/Skills Required

A qualification or sound experience in Geology or Geosciences is essential. experience may be an advantage but not essential.
