Job Description

Principal tasks and accountabilities:

• Account manage a wide portfolio of grants ranging in value from all National Lottery distributors including the Big Lottery Fund, the Arts Council, Sports Council, Heritage Lottery Fund, ensuring that the charity complies with and meets all terms and conditions of grants and ensure its legal obligations are fulfilled and relationships with funders are enhanced.

• Account manage relationships with Lottery grants officers, with the aim of developing excellent relationships with Lottery distributors, to facilitate future applications and ensuring the smooth grant management of major Lottery awards.

• To ensure all relevant Staff understand and comply with the terms and conditions of Lottery grants, particularly the Project Manager, Grants Team Staff, and also operations, finance and other fundraising staff.

• Ensure that full and accurate records of Lottery grants, terms and conditions and correspondence are maintained and that appropriate reports and letters are generated and submitted on time to Lottery grants officers, in line with funding conditions and timeframes.

• Research develop and write new project applications of varying value for submission to the National Lottery Distribution bodies.

• Assist with the Lottery Team fundraising programme, researching and identifying potential sources of support and trends in funding amongst Lottery distribution bodies. Assist the Lottery Manager to develop networks of contacts among Lottery administrators and other voluntary sector Lottery fundraisers with the aim of building up a detailed picture of the lottery funding sector

• Liaise with other members of the Fund raising team and Mencap operational staff to solicit information to form the basis of future Lottery applications

• Manage and record financial information on Lottery income, producing regular financial reports and additional financial analysis against targets and income trends and contribute to the long term development plans for Lottery fundraising.
