Job Description
We are a busy design agency based in Islington looking for a creative, switched on individual to look after our IT needs. The role could be a P/T pure IT function or may suit an individual who wants a F/T role that can turn their hand to other responsibilities.
The central function of this role is to provide an IT support service to meet the needs of approximately 24-30 users in a Mac environment. This includes:
• Maintenance of a Mac based computer network (OSX) including multiple workstations, one server and 3 printers
• Maintenance and update of a backup system (Retrospect) and data transfer between computers
• XRAID, Mail and Firewall maintenance.
• VPN and Remote Access administration.
• Management and administration of software serial numbers
• Providing IT support for Creative and Directors
• Annual and day-to-day Budgeting and purchasing of equipment and software. Management of third party IT support contracts
• Software and Hardware and system configuration
• Troubleshooting software help calls for Adobe CS applications, Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, OSX
The IT function could be combined with other functions such as web content management / creation of new business presentations in Indesign / layout of marketing materials/DTP. We are keeping an open mind - this is a role that could be tailored to the individual

Qualifications/Skills Required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
At least 3 years experience in a similar position within a Mac environment
Knowledge of Adobe CS software, MS Office
Server/network administration
Helpdesk/user support experience
Ability to keep abreast of new technologies and application to ensure smooth running of IT function in the studio
Ability to make recommendation for best practice information management processes and provide advice on IT strategy
Strong analytic skills/problem solving ability
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn
Empathy with design professionals
DESIRABLE SKILLS
Experience and maintenance of KERIO software as well as Shared client databases and calendars
Managing Digital Asset Management (DAM) application such as IView Media Pro and Image keywording.
Knowledge of Adobe acrobat, Fetch
Knowledge of 3-D and/or CAD software (Vectorworks)
