Existing major donor cultivation and solicitation 55% To assist with Major Donor correspondence as instructed by Manager Help out with major donor group fulfilment – appeals and standard literature Providing high level of personal response/care to donors including updates/good news/ telephone, face to face and email communication To assist with Major donor events, receptions, dinners, when requested To manage a portfolio of ‘project funding prospects’ which includes: Recommend suitable prospects for appropriate solicitation and suggest methodology Maintaining accurate records on database and donor research files Report monthly prospect findings to Major Donor Manager Major donor, prospect and Project Funding research 30% To research existing supporters and individuals in order to identify and create research profiles for potential major donor prospects To assist with additional research profiles on all existing major donors To provide monthly updates on research findings and ‘potentials’ To work with Supporter Services and Appeals department in order to identify and capture prospects for middle & major donor development To assist with trust, corporate and any other necessary Project Funding research Developing and maintaining major donor fundraising resource materials 15% To work with other departments within the charity, specifically the Projects Department in order to maintain familiarisation with current and ongoing projects and campaigns Some communication with Direct Marketing Department on appeals as and where necessary To build and maintain an accessible library of images for major donor work, both electronic and hard copy To research and develop appropriate major gift case for support documents. Qualifications -Higher education / degree or equivalent – essential Skills and experience Excellent verbal, presentation, face to face & written communication skills essential Direct experience of research methodology and understanding of it’s role - essential Minimum of two years experience in charity fundraising or relevant corporate environment – essential Good administrative and organisational skills – essential Experience of organising events – desirable Experience of managing one to one donor/client relationships – desirable Knowledge of major gift fundraising principles and the solicitation process – desirable
