Originally a seven office partnership formed over 70 years ago, this organisation is a well known player in the building services field, particularly in the healthcare, transport infrastructure and prestige commercial buildings arena.
Recent schemes undertaken by the firm include a 120 000 square foot, grade A office space for a major law firm in Manchester, a £250 million facility for two universities which are merging together and the conversion of a RAF base in to being a commercial airport.
They have also become part of a larger environmental and consulting engineering practice in 2008. This means that they have greater resources to draw upon, the ability to bid for larger schemes and also a far greater range of opportunities to progress in terms of introducing services in to new locations.
As Administrator within this consulting engineers you will be working in a relaxed and comfortable office in a dual role that will see you contributing towards the efficient running of the office administration and also getting involved with assisting the Document Controller.
Working with the Document Controller you will be ensuring paperwork for a variety of schemes within the North of England is logged and distributed appropriately.
You will be using Microsoft Office applications in the main, but any experience you have of working with SAP's "Business Information Warehouse" software will potentially be put to good use.
Similarly, any ability that you have with AutoCAD such as opening, printing and renaming of drawing files may well be very useful.
The main part of your role will be working as part of the administration team producing tenders, reports, keeping track of information relating to schemes, products, booking engineers time and other duties as you would expect within a busy office.
Qualifications/Skills Required
In applying for this position it is essential that you have worked within either a consulting engineers or Architects previously.
You will need to be aware of the construction cycle and the role of the consulting engineer within it.
Similarly you should be able to demonstrate experience of helping to produce tender documents, engineering reports and other items of industry specific documentation.
