Job Title:Adult Guidance Assessor
Salary: £ 18,000
Place of Work:Stirling, to cover Forth Valley
Hours of Work: 9.00 am to 5.00 Monday to Friday or such other hours as may be necessary to ensure the smooth running of the company
Pension Scheme: The company operates a contributory Group Personal Pension scheme, eligibility to join, which is after 3 months
Holidays:23 days per year, plus 10 statutory days
Sickness:The company operates a sick pay scheme, entitlement based on length of service
Driving Licence:A current clean driving licence is essential
Transport:Company transport will be available for essential business purposes
Responsibilities:
To facilitate, manage and support participants to progress through Ambition Construction (A:C) and Connect Construction (C:C) and ensure all job entry targets are met.
To establish and maintain effective relationships with Jobcentre Plus and their Personal Advisers, participants and providers involved in the various elements of A:C and C:C
To engage directly with participants, to provide advice, guidance and support.
To work closely with Jobcentre Plus PAs to provide a cohesive approach to participant support.
To participate in case conferences with PAs to review and agree participant’s progress, as appropriate.
To carry out basic skills assessment where appropriate.
To identify appropriate provision for participants, in conjunction with PAs, and to liaise with the A:C/C:C Manager to source and set up provision.
To carry out key intervention reviews, to ensure participants’ progression during participation in A:C/C:C, including supporting them in Work Placements and Employment.
To work closely with the Employment Team and specifically the A:C/C:C Employment Broker, to maximise job opportunities for participants.
To ensure all process documentation is completed accurately and timeously.
To maintain an up to date portfolio of local labour market information and, in liaison with the Employment Team, establish and maintain contact with appropriate local employers, encouraging them to act as placements and provide participants with the opportunity to seek employment with them.
To work closely with the Administration Team to ensure appropriate information is collated for statistical purposes.
To actively participate and contribute to all marketing initiatives.
To participate in regular company meetings - reviewing, evaluating and suggesting changes/ new initiatives to improve the services.
To identify and undertake any appropriate training/ skills development as identified and agreed in your Personal Development Agreement.
To understand all aspects of the Equal Opportunities Policy and Racial Equality Legislation and comply with and action, as appropriate, all of their requirements.

Qualifications/Skills Required
The applicant will, ideally, be qualified to a minimum of SVQ Level III (or equivalent) in Advice and Guidance and should have previous experience of working with the unemployed in a guidance and support role. The successful candidate must be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and be able to operate effectively as part of a team whilst having the ability to work on their own initiative.
