Job Description

Architect
Previously a Local Authority Estates and Property department which has now externalised and offers a complete range of property related engineering and construction services for the authority as well as bidding for work in the private sector.

Reporting to the Director of Architecture you will be assisting the Project Leader in ensuring the competitive, efficient and effective delivery of property services.

Working in a multidisciplinary team you will be given Project Leader responsibilities for staff from other disciplines who have been allocated to specific task teams.

Your duties will include:

- Obtaining tenders and quotations in accordance with
the client's instructions.

- Liaising with and leading other professionals in the
development of building projects.

- Ensuring the successful completion of projects to
required timescales, budget parameters and
appropriate standards.

- Preparing drawings, specifications and contract
documentation whilst managing and administering
building contracts.

- Maintaining and developing the appropriate
professional standards and practices within the
company.

Qualifications/Skills Required

You will be a Registered Architect with previous experience working in an architectural design practice. Capable of organising work programmes and co-ordinating the architectural services as a whole, you will have proven success in all aspects of staff management.

A motivational leader you will be capable of working within a team but also as an individual. You will be organised, decisive and an effective forward planner, showing a commitment to seeking new ways of working to achieve continuous improvement.

With a good knowledge of health and safety and familiarity with the risks and hazards associated with asbestos, you will conscientious and adaptable to the various duties of the post.
