Position Specifics:
1. Sing and play games while teaching easy and simple phrases to Elementary students.
2. In the Junior High School, the ALTs assist the Japanese English Teacher in making worksheets and activities.
3. Join other activities like cleaning, lunch and sports clubs.
4. Let them know more information about your country's culture
5. Basically, spending time with the children is one of the main purposes of the ALT.
Other specific information:
1. 5 days of work per week with an average of 7 hours per day
2. Working Visa Sponsorship
3. Initial and follow-up trainings
4. Teacher support (Japanese Language, Teaching Materials)
5. Assistance in acquiring and moving to an apartment near the schools.
6. A total of more than 5 weeks of paid vacation.
7. Daily transportation expenses reimbursable
8. Salary ranges from 180,000 yen to 240,000 yen per month depending on the location and working hours. However, the average is between 220,000 to 230,000 yen monthly because most positions fall in this category.
9. Positions are scattered all over different cities in the Northern part of Japan. City and countryside positions are available. Specifically on the following prefectures: Saitama, Gunma, Ibaraki, Chiba, Tochigi and Yamagata.
With the number of lengthy vacations, many teachers take full advantage of going to different places especially during the winter and summer vacation.
