Job Description
This Local Authority has a long standing reputation for having a different approach to the work that they do. The team is encouraged to adopt alternative solutions to the design challenges presented to them and as a result the city has won several awards for its public buildings. As a city, they have attracted investment from William Hill, Dixons and Insight, have two large universities and is the greenest city in England with over 150 parks and 50 woodland spaces.
As Assistant Facilities Manager your primary task will be to join this South Yorkshire local authority in a role which will see you assisting them with the implementation of flexible working.
As such you will be getting involved with space planning in order to maximise the use of office space available and look at ways that money can be saved on office space.
This contract is initially to last from early December through to May 2008, but it is possible that there will be follow on work.
Qualifications/Skills Required
In this Assistant Facilities Manager position you will need to have the ability to lead, manage and motivate a small team of staff in addition to knowledge of HR and ICT policies, procedures and solutions to aid flexible working.
Your ability to project manage using the appropriate project management techniques to achieve targets within time-scales and budgets is important and you should have the ability to coincide flexible and shared desking with refurbishments, soft seating, team villages etc.
Naturally it is expected that you will have detailed knowledge of flexible working arrangements and solutions and good communication skills with the ability to engage people from all groups.
Following on from that you should have strong influencing skills and detailed knowledge of office accommodation and buildings with regard to relevant legislation.
