Our clients Highways and Bridge Design Team is split across 2 offices in the East Midlands. The Highways Team is based in Nottingham and the Bridge Team in Derby. Derby also has a Lighting Team which is recognised as a centre of excellence across the business.

This is a key appointment at Assistant Engineer level to join a team working on a range of highways development and improvement schemes. Current work is focused in the public sector but with an increasing client base in the private sector there are opportunities to be involved in a diverse range of projects.
Your typical day to day duties will include:
- Preparation of technical reports and contract documents
- Working in a project team to develop the most innovative and practical design solution making use of relevant design software
- Helping manage junior staff and allocate work
- Liaison with colleagues across the business and clients.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Applicants for this role will be Degree qualified Civil Engineers, ideally working towards Chartership, and with previous experience of highways design to HA standards (DMRB and MCDHW). Any experience of drainage engineering would be an advantage.
Your current role will have given you some good exposure to health and safety legislation and the CDM regulations and you will be computer literate with a good understanding of some / all of the following: MX, Micro Drainage and AutoCAD. Experience of Autosign would be beneficial but not totally essential
