Owing to the nature of our clients highways business you will have the chance to work on a diverse range of projects some in support of other teams across the business and others you can expect to be managing yourself from inception through to handover.
The role will be challenging as it will require you to actively contribute at every stage although support will be offered from senior staff and the team around you.
Your day to day duties will include:
- Preparation of designs, reports and specifications for highways schemes
- Supervision of junior staff and technicians
- Budgetary control of projects
- Attending client meetings
- Liaising with internal and external clients and third parties
Qualifications/Skills Required
Applications are welcome from those with a range of UK highways design experience (maintenance, new build, HA schemes, Local Authority) who are HNC qualified as a minimum.
You will need to be familiar with AutoCAD design software and its application in civil engineering and be able to work well within a team to contribute in producing the most effective design solution.
You will have begun to establish good report writing skills and will have a professional and courteous manner in dealing with colleagues and clients.
This is likely to be your first 'career step' since the role you began after graduation as you seek a new challenge and the opportunity to diversify your experience and design skills.
