As an Assistant Engineer you will play a key support role on a number of infrastructure design projects. Making use of available software programmes and also through production of sketch drawings you will be required to produce accurate highways and drainage designs for a client base that is predominantly within the residential sector.
Other projects include town centre redevelopments and as you receive further training you will have a more involved role in the team.
Qualifications/Skills Required
For the role of Assistant Engineer you will need to hold a relevant Degree in Civil Engineering and will have gained previous experience in highways and/or drainage design.
You will need to have a basic understanding of necessary technical guidelines including DMRB and you are likely to have previously been involved in delivering S38 schemes.
Importantly for this role is a desire to push your own technical skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will need to be competent in AutoCAD and ideally have gained experience in drainage design software such as PDS, WinDes or similar.
This role is most likely to suit someone with recent UK infrastructure design experience who is ready to make a positive career step and kick start their career in this field of civil engineering.
