This organisation has been established since 1931 and has always had a connection with social housing. They have also ventured into other markets such as schools, churches, private housing, factories, hospitals and civil engineering works. Since the early 1970’s they have embraced the refurbishment of social housing and have gradually become a specialist in this sector.

This client is currently involved in numerous long-term partnering arrangements with Local Authorities, Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMO’s), Large Scale Voluntary Transfer (LSVT’s), Housing Associations and other Social Landlords, in order to help them achieve the governments ‘decent homes’ standard by 2010.

The last year has seen excellent progress made in their stated mission of "delivering community regeneration". The client believes they have successfully delivered on all active partnerships projects, they also have defined strategies to improve and progress these relationships into the future.

Our client requires an individual to work on the social housing scheme in Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant QS to obtain experience while working under Senior QS in all aspects of the financial and measurement process on site.

Key Responsibilities include assisting the Senior QS on the following: Commercial support on projects from handover of tender to final account, Subcontract procurement from enquiry to price analysis to document preparation and placement, interim and final accounts, sub contract accounts and payments, project budget preparation and cost reporting.

Qualifications/Skills Required

The successful candidate will have relevant Quantity Surveying experience, preferably within the refurbishment sector. They will be willing to work as part of a team on a project that requires good time management due to tight timescales.

The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to work independently with a mature attitude; in order to complete the project on time. It is crucial that the candidate must demonstrate a level of flexibility to ensure the success of the projects.
