The role would be based in our client's head office in Headingley, Leeds. You would be involved in a wide range of exciting and challenging projects ranging from the design of leisure, residential and commercial schemes to the demanding analysis of complex industrial structures.
As an Associate you would be responsible for large building structures projects and for teams working on those projects.
As a Structural Associate you would be responsible for specific clients and large schemes, managing engineers and the financial aspects of the scheme. The role would suit a Principal Structural Engineer who is looking to make the next step in their career.
Qualifications/Skills Required
As a Structural Associate a BEng or MEng degree in relevant engineering discipline is required as a minimum standard. Ideally you would have achieved chartered status, and have proven experience commensurate with the responsibilities of this position.
You should be an experienced Structural Engineer with building structures experience, currently working for a Structural Engineering Consultancy. You should have excellent engineering skills and experience in dealing with the day to day running of large projects. Commercial understanding of fee management and control of financial issues relating to projects is also required.
You should be a good team player as well as the ability to demonstrate good leadership skills, and you should be able to work in a busy multi discipline office. The ability to communicate clearly and supervise others is essential, along with a desire to work in a progressive environment.
Relevant experience in a similar role, working on both small and large projects within a medium to large multi-discipline consultancy would be advantageous. As would experience of large building design and project control. Design related computer skills would be preferable. You should also be a member of IStructE or ICE and Chartership would be a distinct advantage.
