Our client, a major independent tour operator is seeking a Aviation Manager, within this role you will be managing the negotiation and supply of Air Product for the delivery of brands within the Group
Main responsibilities
- Untertake rate negotiations and oversee the strongest commercial contract rates across all airlines sold within the business both off and online
- Manage, influence and develop Key Airline relationships
- Source supplier specific offers in order to deliver appropriate sales targets and revenues for the required brands
- Communicate specific contract terms and offers to appropriate departments / managers
- Develop and evolve the Air Product Strategy in conjuction with appropriate Product Manager
- Oversee performance of partners supplying online seat and airline availability (particularly low-cost carriers)
- Lead new Air Product development strategies in conjunction with appropriate Product Manager(s) and be influencial throughout process from concept, through specification, testing and delivery
- Undertake Management Information System reporting and appropriate system maintenance and analysis
- Assess route and carrier performance and in conjuction with Yield Manager, work to improve revenues and sales wherever possible
- Oversee correct ticketing practices in conjunction with Administration department
- Tackle any applicable company wide issues relating to airlines' terms and conditions
- Provide support for any GDS system related issues within the business
- Involvement in Charter based airline negotiations as well as other transport aspects
You will need to have a strong knowledge of Airline Industry with key relationships and at least 1 year's experience in a similar role and a excellent understanding of the GDS systems and comprehension of IT and online requirements along with a proven Commercial acumen
