Job Description
MSB Supply Chain a specialist purchasing and supply chain recruitment company has a position for a buyer, for our client site in East London.
Reporting to the Materials Manager (through the Supply Development Manager), the purpose of this job is to effect and co-ordinate all purchasing activities to ensure on time delivery from a portfolio of suppliers. The primary responsibility is to support the manufacturing operation.
KEY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Purchase materials required for production through purchase orders and supplier schedules
· Negotiate with agreed suppliers optimum purchasing terms of quality, price and delivery. Monitor and communicate supplier performance
· In conjunction with the Supply Development Manager, develop partnerships and seek new suppliers as appropriate.
· Liaise with suppliers in response to engineering changes, for example, issuing new drawings, managing quotations and assessing supplier capabilities Co-ordinate materials quality and availability issues to minimise disruption to production. Communicate status to all parties at all times
· Maintain system parameters to ensure MRP integrity and accurate purchasing data
· Provide purchasing support to all parts of the business as required
