Job Description

Temporary position – 6-month contract This opportunity is based within the Purchasing and Supply Chain group. The successful candidate will liaise with Vendors and production sections to ensure materials management in order to sustain manufacturing and inventory goals. The role will also maintain and develop improvements in vendor delivery performance. Qualifications required The ideal candidate will be CIPS qualified or possess a formal qualification in Material Control and should have a full understanding of MRP & ERP systems.
Experience We are seeking a minimum of two years Material Control and Vendor Management experience within a manufacturing environment. Skills

- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Material Control and Vendor Management
- Highly computer literate,
- Methodical and attentive to detail - Able to chair meetings delivering desired results
- Self-motivated and driven to constantly seek improvement
- Tenacious and persuasive personality with sense of humour
- To liaise with the manufacturing section, ensuring materials are available to sustain production
- To manage vendors ensuring delivery dates are adhered to, scheduling material
- Improve vendor delivery performance and reduce purchase lead times
- Arrange and chair regular vendor reviews as appropriate to develop vendor relationships
- Contract negotiation and formulation
