Job Description

This design consultancy, part of a larger international group, employs around 260 staff, 160 of whom are based in York. The smaller offices are growing considerably and also developing new business for the company.

At present rail projects and associated infrastructure encompasses the greatest part of their workload. As the teams across the country expand and additional expertise is brought into the company their range of work will expand.

Located in the centre of York the office is directly opposite the train station in a sixties office block which has to some extent been redeveloped internally. There is parking with plenty of car parks locally, the proximity to the train station is ideal for commuters.

A CAD Technician is required to join the rail design team in York. You will provide a CAD service to Engineers and Technicians on a variety of rail structures projects (train stations, platforms etc).

You will be responsible for the production of CAD drawings to high standards, within agreed timescales.

Qualifications/Skills Required

To apply for the position of CAD Technician you should ideally be qualified to HNC level in Civil Engineering, with previous experience and knowledge of the use of AutoCAD in a rail structures or building structures environment.
