Job Description

This design consultancy, part of a larger international group , employs around 260 staff , 160 of whom are based in York. The smaller offices are growing considerably and also developing new business for the company.

At present rail projects and associated infrastructure encompasses the greatest part oftheir workload. As the teams across the country expand and additional expertise is brought into the company their range of work will expand.

Located in the centre of York the office is directly opposite the train station in a sixties office block which has to some extent been redeveloped internally. There is parking with plenty of car parks locally, the proximity to the train station is ideal for commuters.

As a Railway Electrification CAD Technician yuo will use microstation to produce OLE design drawings, including layouts and cross sections, site surveys / height and stagger surveys as well as the production of materials bills and schedules.

You will work with a medium sized team of Engineers and Technicians implementing CAD standards and drawing practices.

Qualifications/Skills Required

To apply for the position of Railway Electrification CAD Technician you must have previous UK experience in a similar role, with good knowledge of CAD systems particularly AutoCAD, Lotus notes and Microsoft Office packages.

You must also be able to work to tight timescales, have excellent communication skills and a self-motivated approach to your work.
