Job Description
Our Client is a top London based company seeking a client-facing Usability Consultant with interface design background to join their IT and Web Design Department. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, your prime responsibility will be to empirically drive forward improvements to the customer experience and conversion of the ecommerce web site.
The ability to analyse business processes and aggressively influence business strategy are both critical skills. Close contact will also be required across many other areas of the business: Marketing, Merchandising etc.
Essential Requirments:
1. Empirical specification of web site functionality and presentation changes
2. Organisation of usability testing
3. Analysis of data from web analytics systems, usability testing, surveys, focus groups, etc.
4. Analysis of other retail websites; both local competitors and globally
5. Ownership and control of the web site experience; the focal point for questions and changes regarding the web site functionality and usability.
6. Selling technology solutions to potential customers on-site.
7. Negotiating functionality with customers and specifying requirements.
This excellent opportunity requires a team player with self-confidence, assertiveness and personal motivation. Excellent analysis skills, a creative approach to problem solving and an in-depth interest web sites and online retailing (SEO) are all essential. You will have a third level education with 3 to 4 years commercial / ecommerce experience.
Additionally, knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• Web site functional design & usability
• Full project lifecycle appreciation.
• Web site technologies (HTML, Web Browsers, etc.).
• Business process analysis skills
• Accessibility design and testing
• Usability testing
• Web analysis
• Web site data structures
• Sensitivity to brand
• External Search Optimisation techniques
