This company has a long history in the manufacturing sector dating back to 1855 and started with the manufacture of oil cans. During the 19th century they diversified and today are known as a specialist in the design and manufacture of patent door locks supplying the architectural and railway industries throughout the United Kingdom.
At present this company can also offer services such as metal finishing and powder coat painting, metal polishing and a foundry which can produce castings through the methods of lost wax and shell moulding.
With a group turnover of 10 million this Leeds based manufacturer employs between 60 - 70 people and has a knowledgeable team who help sustain their reputation in the industry.
They pride themselves on the quality of finished product they can provide. With several patented products in the rail and MoD market they have been seen as industry leaders for the last 20 years.
This Leeds based manufacturer is looking to employ a CNC Lathe Setter/Operator to work on a night shift basis.
You will be producing components which are used in the rail and MoD industries which will involve working with materials such as stainless steel, mild steel, brass and aluminium, experience of working with such materials would be beneficial but not essential.
You will be responsible for maintaining production on up to two lathes at any one time, the machines will range from Gildemeister C-Axis lathes through to Kryle single turret lathes.
You will be working to tight tolerances on most jobs with an allowance of +/- 0.05mm in some circumstances.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Ideally you will be qualified to ONC standard however this is not essential as experience will be taken into consideration.
You should have experience in working on CNC lathes with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls and be familiar with using c-axis (live tooling) lathes. You should be experienced in working to tight tolerances and be familiar when working with various materials.
You will be working a night shift which will mean you will be expected to work four 12 hour shifts every week.
