Job Description
Main duties:
1.Attendance on clients in office and on the telephone : taking initial instructions for new work.
2.Dealing with all technical and legal aspects of a commercial Conveyancing workload, with limited assistance.
3.Take over of a minimal existing Commercial Conveyancing client base/workload
4.To actively develop in conjunction with the Marketing Team the Commercial Conveyancing links the firm has already established.
5.To actively develop and encourage with the Marketing Team any contacts the candidate may have in this field.
6.To effectively manage the development of this area of law at the Firm, looking specifically at:
a)Controls - in order to ensure that client and source requirements are met.
b)Procedures and policies in keeping with the firms existing policies and procedures.
c)IT - adapting the case management system with the IT team to serve this type of work effectively and efficiently.
Objectives:
1.To ensure that the commercial Conveyancing department is viable, ie: cost effective and efficient.
2.To ensure the continued success of the practice
3.To ensure the highest quality service to all clients.
4.To ensure that all parties involved in the transaction are kept fully informed of developments throughout their transaction
5.To convey the ethical image of the practice generally by their demeanour.
6.To have a detailed knowledge of files in order to resolve any queries raised by a client effectively.
7.To maintain files and deliver a service that are fully compliant with quality standards set by Lexcel and the firm generally.
8.To be adaptable to changes which may be required by any parties dealing with or governing this type of work.
9.To attend training and vocational courses in order to build on academic foundations.
Required Skills for the Post:
?Academic:
Desirable - Professional qualification.
Essential : A sound technical knowledge and at least 3 years experience in Commercial Conveyancing.
?Practical:
Essential - Excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage work and organise time effectively.
Essential : Forward thinking individual who is highly motivated and looking for a challenge.
Essential - IT, Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications; Word, Excel etc Must have at least 12 months experience of a case management system.
