Job Description

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY ASSOCIATE (2-6YRS PQE) x 2
Our client, one of the UK's top 20 law firms are looking to recruit two Associates to join their Commercial Property division.

The role will operate across all areas of commercial property and will support a couple of senior associates. The work of the group is varied and includes:

Acting for private sector developers on long and short term development arrangements. Projects might involve establishment of joint ventures. Follow up work would involve securing letting and pre-letting of properties and forward funding or forward selling of the investments created.

Acting for public sector regeneration bodies in relation to a wide range of regeneration projects, involving partnering with private sector developers, monitoring of private sector development and allocation of grant funding.

Buying and selling of investment properties.

Acting for large and medium scale occupiers (particularly retailers) in acquiring premises eg negotiating of pre-let agreements / leases.

The responsibilities would involve working in a team on large scale projects and (on a supervised basis) dealing independently with follow up elements of work;
accordingly any successful applicant (bearing in mind their relative seniority) will need the following skills:

Good knowledge of property issues.

The ability to manage files unsupervised, with particular emphasis on meeting deadlines, and to proactively support senior fee-earners on more complex cases, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as required.

The ability to contribute to the general upkeep of the group (whether that be to training, precedents, or know-how generally).

A clear understanding of high standards of client care for existing and potential clients.

The ability to identify and support business development opportunities, establishing strong client relationships at all levels.

Good sense of humour and the ability to fit into a team based environment.

There are excellent prospects for progression within this role and within the merged firm as a whole.

The successful candidate will have:

Strong academic achievement, a
sound property experience gained within a mid-tier firm and a
clear commercial awareness.

Qualifications/Skills Required

Please note: Applications will not be considered from those candidates who are not entitled to work within the UK or the country of the advertised vacancy.
