Job Description
Under general direction, assists in the development, installation, and administration of compensation programs. Evaluates salaried hourly, middle, and top management positions. Assists in the administration of performance appraisal and salary administration programs and reviews changes in wages and salaries for conformance to policy. Audits evaluation of positions and application of existing classifications to individuals. Conducts and participates in compensation surveys conducted by other companies. Assists in updating the salary structure
Qualifications/Skills Required
1. Evaluates salaried, hourly, middle and top management positions.
2. Assists in the administration of the performance appraisal process.
3. Assists in administering the salary administration guidelines
4. Reviews proposed changes to wages and salaries to assure that they are within salary administration guidelines.
5. Audits the evaluation of all positions and assure that all position descriptions are current.
6. Conducts and participates in compensation surveys.
7. Assists in the updating of the annual salary structure.
8. Assures that compensation decisions are consistent with all federal, state, and local legislation, case law and regulatory requirements
9. Periodically conducts seminars on compensation for new and existing management personnel.
10. Produces monthly reports on compensation and headcount related issues.
-Advanced communication skills, including ability to speak in front of large audiences and senior managers.
-Advanced negotiation skills are required.
-Advanced understanding of business, management, and contemporary human resource practices.
-Thorough understanding of direct and indirect financial rewards, including contemporary practice and appropriate legislation.
-Knowledge of Oracle HR applications is a plus, but not required.
-Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
Minimum of 4-6 years experience managing and designing compensation programs
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Industrial Relations, Human Resources administration, or equivalent experience required
