Job Description

Conservation Architect / Technician
With over 14000 employees internationally, this unique organisation is in the top five by size of most disciplines connected with the construction industry from Architecture to Structural Engineering.

Organised in to sector groups, they have achieved a remarkable position of being able to deliver highly complex projects and more straightforward works with equal ability.

Working within a dedicated Heritage and Conservation team a Conservation Architect/Technician is required to join an established multidisciplinary consultancy to expand their national conservation architecture business.

You will have the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of conservation, design and repair projects across the country. In addition, you will contribute to the wider work of the practice including Heritage Lottery Fund bids, Conservation Plans, multi-disciplinary projects and general heritage consultancy. Working with other team members, you will have the opportunity to help grow this expanding and dynamic business.

The role will include leading elements of major projects, managing small projects and providing architectural support to the Principal Architect. More experienced applicants will be expected to contribute to the growth of the business, pursuing new business and marketing opportunities in a range of sectors.

Qualifications/Skills Required

You will be a Chartered Architect and will ideally be RIBA AABC (Architects Accredited in Building Conservation) accredited or currently working towards accreditation. Alternatively you may be an Architectural Technologist/Technician with experience working on conservation projects.

Regardless of your academic background you will have demonstrable conservation experience and be capable of working under your own initiative. You will have good design and technical skills and will ideally have job running experience.

You will be CAD literate and familiar with UK Building Regulations, particularly those relevant to conservation. A full driving licence is essential and you will be willing to travel should this be required.
