This design consultancy, part of a larger international group, employs around 260 staff, 160 of whom are based in York. The smaller offices are growing considerably and also developing new business for the company.
At present rail projects and associated infrastructure encompasses the greatest part of their workload. As the teams across the country expand and additional expertise is brought into the company their range of work will expand.
Located in the centre of York the office is directly opposite the train station in a sixties office block which has to some extent been redeveloped internally. There is parking with plenty of car parks locally, the proximity to the train station is ideal for commuters.
This is a great opportunity to become part of an in-house multi-disciplinary team of technical consultants for a major company specialising in Railway Infrastructure Services. As an Architectural Technologist / Technician you will be responsible for producing designs incorporating a high level of detail to ensure the successful implementation of major rail projects. Current projects include the design of permanent and temporary modular stations, as well as the complete redevelopment of a major London railway station.
Qualifications/Skills Required
You will be an Architectural Technologist / Technician capable of producing highly detailed designs. You must have excellent team skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, showing an interest in rail infrastructure, although previous rail experience is not a necessity. You will be proficient in AutoCAD with a good knowledge of UK building regulations.
