MSB Supply Chain Management a recruitment company specialising in the field of procurement have a position with there leading transport company for a Contracts Manager

This role is to manage contracts with suppliers to ensure that:
·Appropriate service level agreements (SLAs) are in place with key suppliers
·Suppliers have a clearly defined and agreed set of key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve
·Compliance with SLAs and performance to KPIs
·Immediate and effective action is taken to identify the causes of any service level failure and to implement appropriate remedies
·Good value from its key suppliers and that their pricing remains competitive

Skill requirements

This role requires the following skills:

·Good knowledge of contract law
·Ability to draft contract clauses
·Ability to construct service level agreements that will ensure good value and a high level of support from its key suppliers
·Ability to define appropriate KPI to be applied in monitoring contract performance
·Good interpersonal skills
·Relationship management skills
·Understanding and practice of supplier partnership working
·Conversant with the theory and day-to-day application of modern procurement concepts, tools and techniques.
·Ability to work well with the purchasing team and Engineers
·Good all-round business skills

The Contract manager will typically be responsible for a portfolio with a spend of £75 million pa.

The Contract manager will report to the Divisional Purchasing Manager. And there will be regular progress reviews between the Contract manager and his/her immediate manager.
