Job Description
The team is responsible for all matters involving costs arising out of Court Proceedings before all Divisions of the High Court, Court of Appeal, House of Lords and Privy Council. The team deals with the recovery and payment and/or assessment of costs, including preparation of detailed bills and advancing detailed written submissions as relevant to each situation. The team ultimately deals with negotiations and is required to attend Court to conduct advocacy.
The role:
·Production of standard Word documents, such as Bills of Costs, Points of Dispute/Reply, and other court documents.
·Production of standard Excel documents, such as Document Schedules and Estimates of Costs.
·Producing CMS printouts as requested.
·Analysing billing files to locate bills for analysis in Estimate of Costs.
·Customising standard excel documents to suit requirements.
·Producing ad hoc excel spreadsheets as required.
·Entering timesheets.
·Production of weekly attendance sheet.
·Keeping accurate personnel records, holiday/absence forms etc.
·Updating electronic/hard copy diary and wall planner with court hearings, holidays etc.
·Filing and other ad hoc duties as required.
Experience required:
Work-based Competencies:
·Minimum 2/3 years secretarial experience at a senior level
·Advanced Microsoft Word
·Intermediate Excel
·Intermediate typing
