They are involved with challenging and complex projects in the residential, retail, office, health, education, defence and secure sectors, working under a variety of procurement routes, including design and build contracts and partnering.

This Company is seeking a Design Co-ordinator to work with both their pre-construction teams and site teams. As a Design coordinator you would be responsible for managing the Design Team through the whole construction process.

The Design Team will include the Architects, Engineers and Specialist Sub contractors. You will be ensuring that the design is delivered on time and reflects the specification and scope of works. You will be responsible for ensuring value engineering and be innovative within the scope of the design.

The work will involve the deliver of 14 secondary schools in the current wave of the BSF programme, primarily through new build with some refurbishment, with a total area of approximately 100,000 square meters. This wave of the programme will also include the provision of healthcare facilities.

Qualifications/Skills Required

Ideal candidates will have experience of Design Management/ Co-ordination within the New Build/Refurbishment sector on projects in excess of £6Million. Candidates must have excellent construction knowledge, which will include structural design. Due to nature of works a keen understanding of both Statutory Building Regulations and Contract knowledge is also sought. Previous BSF project experience would be advantageous but not essential.
