Job Description

E & I Engineer
Our client is looking for an E & I Engineer to manage the Shift Electrical Maintenance Department in the provision of an effective maintenance service to the manufacturing and site administrative areas, site services and utilities that meets the needs of the Company whilst ensuring compliance with all Safety and Environmental regulatory and cGMP standards and requirements.
To manage the E and I maintenance function ensuring that legislative and Company standards and requirements are met.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

HSE:
Comply with all SHE requirements including safety policies and procedures.
Effectively implement all SPS safety procedures & systems, and monitor compliance with all statutory and Company requirements and provide high standards of engineering work.
Responsible for the management of hazardous areas inspection systems ensuring all hazardous area equipment complies with the Statutory requirements and the appropriate British Standards are maintained.
Ensure the maintenance team comply with all PPM work, that the work is effectively carried out meeting the high levels of schedule adherence required.
Provide engineering management and technical support for the site during all shutdown, bank holidays and out of hours periods as necessary.
Conduct STOP, SHE 60 & other safety audits & inspections ensuring effective proactive monitoring of the maintenance and engineering teams.
Ensure the maintenance personnel have a high level of Safety and Environmental awareness and promote safe working from maintenance personnel and engineering contractors at all times.

Operational:
Ensure that the maintenance resources and skills are adequate and effectively managed to meet the needs of the business by maximising the flexibility and effectiveness of the craft work teams through empowerment & the application of the appropriate skills.
Provide adequate maintenance systems and procedures ensuring they are up to date, consistent with the maintenance policies and effectively implemented to maintain engineering standards and meet the needs of the business.
Develop, maintain and implement adequate maintenance plans and strategies to ensure high levels of equipment care, plant reliability and availability, and efficient operation that meet the needs of the business.
Responsible for the management and development of the Instrument Calibration system, ensuring the system complies with the Company Quality, Safety and maintenance policies.

Ensure that all engineering work done meets all cGMP requirements and that all SPS quality procedures are followed accordingly.
Ensure that adequate engineering spares are identified to maintain the required levels of plant availability.
Ensure that projects undertaken are returned on time and within agreed cost.
Work on project teams and assist and support the smooth introduction of new products and ensure that plans harmonise and are consistent with effective maintenance.
Promote high housekeeping standards, and monitor compliance.
Assist and support the Maintenance Manager in developing and improving the maintenance strategies, programmes and plans ensuring effective implementation of the maintenance policy.
Carryout SAP transactions in a timely and efficient manner consistent with the job profile ensuring effective management and administration of the system.

People:
Carryout performance assessments and appraisals.
Coach and develop engineering team.
Ensure adequate training is provided and effectively delivered to the CES and Shift engineering craft teams ensuring competence & the continued development of individual and team capability.
Oversee grievance and disciplinary matters.
Manage and monitor the work of all reporting personnel to ensure a professional approach and good working relationships and communications with all functions and departments.

Financial:
Prepare maintenance expenditure forecasts, manage and control maintenance expenditure and budgets.
Support and assist Maintenance Manager in the management and control of the site maintenance budget.
Prepare, agree capital budget, monitor expenditure and submit CAR's to agreed plan.

Contacts & Relationships:
Working closely with the production and manufacturing functions and teams ensuring an effective maintenance service.
Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, Plant Engineering team and the Assistant Engineers and assist and support as necessary to provide an effective maintenance service to the site.
Working with Project Engineering teams in the execution and implementation of projects on site.
