The Yorkshire region is based out of modern offices on a business park which provides easy access to the motorway network.
Based on a large new build healthcare project in West Yorkshire, an Electrical Project Manager for this nationally respected building services contractor is responsible for managing the complex electrical (lighting, IT infrastructure, security access, power distribution) installations on this building.
Responsibilities will include managing: construction activities for the electrical services, public health, incoming statutory supplies, operation and maintenance documentation and any necessary off site activities within the confines of the contract.
The Project Manager will manage the pre-construction activities, through to final completion and commissioning. Whilst on site, they will be required to manage both directly employed staff and sub contractors, ensuring their work is to the clients’ specifications and standards.
They will have a key input into the day-to-day programming of activities, managing commissioning and handover activities, monitoring quality control and value engineering and the financial performance of the project.
Responsibilities to their client will include regular progress reports and assisting with alterations to the project, ensuring the building services operations are efficiently and effectively coordinated.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Applicants for this role will be ideally working as an Electrical Project Manager at the present time within a recognised building services contractor. They will also have gained a relevant degree, although this is not essential as an HNC in Electrical Engineering or building services related will be considered.
A good experience in the Project Management of the installation of electrical construction activities is paramount. These include lighting, security and power distribution systems, as well as other associated electrical building services systems. The position is based around a large healthcare project in West Yorkshire and whilst experience within a similar environment is not essential, it would provide an advantage, as will experience of Project Managing electrical installations in laboratories or pharmaceutical clean rooms.
A location within either the West or South Yorkshire region is important as the successful applicant will be travelling daily to site.
