This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading Environmental Consultancies in the country as an Environmental Coordinator. The role would involve work of a technical nature according to your own specialism. You will provide support to the Design Project Manager by producing effective written reports.
As Environmental Coordinator you should actively pursue professional training and encourage others to participate. You will also establish positive working relationships with all external parties including clients and represent the company well. You will participate in business development and prepare expressions of interest and tenders.
You will typically be involved with provision of best methods and practices to meet requirements, assist with identification and assessment of route options, prepare outline designs for environmental solutions and coordinate project Environmental Impact Assessments. Your assistance will also be required in exhibition and public inquiry preparation and attendance and you will prepare and maintain the project quality plan. You will also monitor environmental staffing requirements including selection and interviewing of staff.
The position is office based but will require visits to clients and site as required.
Qualifications/Skills Required
To apply for this position you should have substantial previous experience in the environmental coordination of environmental impact and assessment of major highway projects in the UK and should be a specialist in one or more of the following disciplines: Ecology, Environmental Science / Management, Landscape Architecture / Management. In addition you should also be a full Member of the corresponding Institution or other appropriate Institution.
You will also have good verbal and written communication skills, be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
