Job Description

Flood Risk Modeller
Core Responsibilities
• To undertake Flood Risk Assessments and Strategic Flood Risk Assessments
• To work with engineers in the design of solutions to flood problems.
• To develop new business opportunities, broadening existing client base and range of projects
• Skills needed for this role are:
• Expert knowledge and at least 5-10 years experience of Flood Risk Modelling
• Proven project management experience
• High level of technical understanding and ability
• Proven commercial skills and awareness, and ability to maintain and develop new client relationships
• Driving licence
• Interpersonal and presentational skills
The following are Essential:
• Modelling software skills, including HEC-RAS, FEH and ISIS or MIKE-11
• BEng/BSc, Chartered ICE or equivalent
• Computer literacy, especially a thorough competence in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Financial/ budgetary management of projects
Good first degree in a water or engineering discipline, ideally followed by a second degree relevant to Flood Risk
Chartered ICE or equivalent
Personal qualities
• Ability to relate to and work well with others
• Good levels of personal responsibility, commitment and motivation
• Flexibility to adapt themselves to different situations
• Attention to detail
•Communication skills, presentable appearance. Liaise with Environment Agency to ensure clients’ needs are met

Qualifications/Skills Required
