Job Description

HR Manager, Stand-alone, City, London
This position is for a HR Manager based in the City. (WC postcode area) - basic salary £30k - £40k benefits include PHI + Contributory Pension + 25 days holiday + gym membership. Working hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. My client is a global leader within it's field within the media sector. They are staffed by around 150 passionate people and seek to appoint an energetic and self-starting HR Manager.
Key tasks & Responsibilities include: - Recruitment & Retention, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Pay & Reward (Interviews, Disciplinary, Redundancy, Grievances, Change Management, Reorganisation etc). The successful candidate must be a graduate member of the CIPD with at least 3 years HR experience, with at least 1 year of this in a standalone role. Experience within a Market Research or Media Company is desirable but not essential. Reporting to the Managing Director in a standalone capacity, there is a very high level of autonomy with this role, though still highly operational and suiting a results oriented doer. Duties include: -

Create and review job descriptions as and when necessary.
Post advertisements, shortlist candidates, schedule & conduct interviews and respond to unsuccessful applicants.
Manage Grievance and Disciplinary Process, which includes, preparation of documentation prior to meeting, attending meetings and dealing with Trade Union Representatives where necessary.
Manage Redundancy Process, which includes preparation of all necessary documentation, outline of timings and attending all meetings.
Provide advice to Managing Director regarding Employment Tribunal Applications.
Ensure that all departments carry out annual appraisals.
Ensure that Managers and staff complete Training Needs Assessments and create Training Development Plans.
Work with Operations on creating and reviewing internal training methods and initiatives.
Manage PHI claims in line with Company benefits administrators.
Provide Finance with all payroll-related documentation, which includes calculation of new starter and leaver pay and completion of monthly correspondence to the Inland Revenue.
