Job Description

Human Resource Officer
Position: HR Officer

Location: Denton, Stockport

Salary: £22,000

Hours: Monday-Friday 9–5pm


My client is a leading manufacturer of office filing systems and requires a Human Resource Officer to provide a generalist function to the Distribution and Manufacturing HR Manager. This is a challenging role with responsibility for a wide range of tasks including recruitment and training, absence control, occupational health, disciplinary issues and pension administration.

Key responsibilities and Duties

· To select and recruit employees to job and person specifications and to provide the correct skill level to achieve business objectives
· To process administration for amendments to monthly payroll including sick pay, salary adjustments and pensions to ensure correct payments and deductions are actioned by payroll in line with policy
· To administrate pension and PPP scheme on time and in line with company policy
· To provide advice to line Managers on policy, procedures and employment legislation to ensure conformance with company standards and statutory requirements
· To maintain records for external and internal training and evaluation to monitor training activities and for use in cost benefit analysis
· To administrate health surveillance appointments for occupational health nurse to ensure service is fully utilised to support site health and safety initiatives
· To produce monthly LTO and stability ratio statistics and scheme membership figures to aid monitoring and management information
· To maintain personnel files manual and computerised so that information is easily retrievable and up to date
· To complete employers liability paperwork to ensure all relevant information is provided to insurers and deadlines are met

Qualifications/Skills Required

Skills and Experience

· Minimum 2-3 years administration experience within a Manufacturing personnel/HR setting is essential
· Selection and recruitment experience
· Previous experience of Pensions administration
· You must be either part or fully IPD qualified and have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s
· Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Word and Excel

Person Specification

· Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to socialise with a wide variety of people
· Analytical and logically minded to enable successful prioritisation of all tasks to meet deadlines
· Strong verbal and written skills
· Assertive with the ability to quickly establish credibility at all levels and the persistence to complete tasks
· Must be able to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines and urgent tasks
