This organisation has developed its community strategy to achieve real and sustained change for Harrow. This project is a senior officer partnership initiative involving the Council, Police, Probation, Health and Voluntary Sector. The project department and its partner agencies lead on the development of the national drug strategy at a local level.
In April 2004, the project received a two-year grant from the Home Office to develop local throughcare and aftercare services, with the aims of reducing crime and drug-related harms. We believe that no single agency can successfully tackle the complexities that lead to offending and drug use. Helping drug-using offenders requires joint efforts between the Court, the Police, the Prison, the project and the treatment providers. The project supports the consultant's recommendation for settinst Referral Worker and Criminal Justice Intensive Supportive Worker. g up an Integrated Criminal Justice Team and the recruitment of appropriate staff. The functions of the non intensive D.I.P Team are to make links with the partners, to co-ordinate services and to ensure that ex-prisoners, prolific offenders and Statutory/non statutory offenders under Probation or YOT, access a range of services including: health care, treatment, rehabilitation, employment, housing and other structured activities. We are looking to recruit someone with at least 2 years' experience in developing substance misuse/criminal justice or related services. The successful candidate would have demonstrable understanding of relevant legislations, national drugs and criminal justice policy, including Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, Models of Care and Home Office's Key Performance Indicators.
All candidates must hold a current Enhanced CRB Disclosure dated within the last 12 months.
