Job Description

Mechanical Project Engineers
An acknowledged leader in building services contracting, this M&E Contractor provide mechanical and electrical services across a broad range of sectors including commercial, industrial and public sector buildings.

They support and complement industry leading construction teams from project budgeting advice to commissioning. Their proficiency in designing and delivering air-conditioning, heating, plumbing and fire protection as well as power, lighting, data, security and building management projects throughout the country, makes them one of the leading M&E Contractors to work for.

With an enviable history and track record they strive to constantly achieve the highest standards in everything they do. There is a real “ethos” of partnering with their clients, fellow disciplines, supply chain professionals and within their own internal teams to ensure the highest standards of delivery.

The Yorkshire region is based out of modern offices on a business park which provides easy access to the motorway network.

This leading nationwide mechanical and electrical building services contractor is looking to recruit Mechanical Project Engineers to work on a prestigious healthcare project in the West Yorkshire region.

You will be site based and report to your Project Manager. You will be supported by a team of knowledgeable people and you will be responsible for the timely completion of this large project.

Your duty is to ensure that the programme, safety and quality requirements of the project are met. You will regularly monitor and report site progress and attend meetings with fellow Engineers and Project Managers. You will have responsibility for the coordination of on site activities within their allocated area and you will assist your Project Manager with the production of method statements for construction activities as well as short and long term target programmes.

This is a managerial role which will include liaising with clients and both main and sub-contractors. The role will be in charge of directly employed and sub-contracted staff, providing supervision on site for the installation of mechanical building services related systems, such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).

Qualifications/Skills Required

This building services contractor wants to receive applications from experienced Mechanical Project Engineers within the construction industry. Whilst a degree in building services construction is not essential, it is desirable. This contractor will strongly consider applicants who have gained an HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering and can provide evidence of practical experience in the building services construction industry.

It is essential that you have practical working experience of HVAC systems and a solid background working in a building services environment. Experience of working on healthcare projects would be advantageous but not essential.

You should be able to work alongside others in a senior role and be organised in your approach to your daily tasks and problem solving. You should be adept at time management and be capable of motivating yourself in your daily duties.

Ideally, applicants will be located in either West Yorkshire or South Yorkshire and be able to commute to site daily.

Please note: Applications will not be considered from those candidates who are not entitled to work within the UK or the country of the advertised vacancy.
