Job Description
Specialising in mechanical, electrical and plumbing building services including property care and refurbishment services, this M&E Contractor operates both locally and nationally.
They also have a wide experience of working as principal contractor with full responsibility for all installation and design requirements, including building and ground works as necessary, on major mechanical and electrical projects.
Based in Nottingham the present employee level is approximately 260 people. They also have a facility for off-site fabrication and manufacturing at their own workshops.
The role for a Mechanical Site Supervisor / Foreman within this large mechanical and electrical building services contractor, based in Nottingham, has become available.
A Site Supervisor / Foreman within this M&E contractor will have responsibility for the on-site installation of the mechanical building services. This includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning, amongst other systems that are associated with mechanical building services.
Reporting directly to a Mechanical Project Manager / Engineer, the Site Supervisor / Foreman will provide regular updates of site progress and any issues that are becoming apparent. They will have responsibility for the work and health and safety of both directly employed staff on site and that of sub-contractors whilst on-site.
Currently, the type of projects that are likely to be worked upon include long standing agreements with prison contracts and work from the commercial and educational building sectors.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Applicants will have a good experience of mechanical site supervision that has been gained through working for a building services contractor previously.
This will have helped applicants gain a solid understanding of the installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Preferably, experience would have been gained working on prison projects or commercial and educational buildings, although this experience is not as essential as a strong technical knowledge and background.
Applicants will have gained their relevant City and Guilds qualifications, as well as a CSCS card and other relevant health and safety qualifications that enable them to supervise a team whilst on site. Previous experience of supervising a team consisting of trades and labour; in this case mechanical fitters and various sub-contractors, is very important.
The roles are based on site, although the head office is based in Nottingham.
