The Swindon and North Wiltshire Academy is one of seven in the UK, and it represents a new kind of partnership between the Higher Education Institutes, and Trusts in the Avon, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire area. One of the aims of the Academy is to provide a supply of skilled staff to deliver modern and effective health and social care.
The Deans provide the lead for education in the Academy and are responsible for meeting the strategic aims and work plan of the Academy and are responsible to the Strategic Board. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the direction and infrastructure of the Academy, working closely with the Workforce Development Confederation, existing Deans, local NHS trusts and Universities, and to further develop the vision and ethos of the Academy Community.
By monitoring the curriculum and effectiveness of teaching, you will ensure that the appropriate resources are in place and that the learning that takes place is of the highest possible quality as you lead upon positive change to meet the current and future needs of the local health community.
As part of the Academy Management Group, you will also seek opportunities to promote team, multi-disciplinary, and multi-agency learning to maximise the learning experience for all learners and encourage collaboration across all users of the Academy.
These positions are offered initially as secondment opportunities or fixed term contracts for 1 year, each for 15 hours per week. A generous Salary will be dependent on experience and current salary.

Qualifications/Skills Required
both posts you will need a masters degree or equivalent qualification in the appropriate field as well as a good understanding of curriculum management and delivery processes. You will be skilled at working across organisational boundaries, challenging outdated practices where appropriate, and be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in team management in a clinical or university setting.
