Job Description

Performance & Quality Officer
To co-ordinate the work of the organisation in undertaking BEST VALUE REVIEWS and in monitoring the implementation of Action Plans arising therefrom.
To co-ordinate the work of the organisation in the production of management and performance information.
To ensure that the organisation collects and provides best value performance information which complies with the requirements of the Audit Commission and other external regulators.
To ensure that all performance data is supported by effective audit trails and to verify performance information, as necessary.
To provide monthly performance data to the Director and Management Team on Statutory and local Performance Indicators.
To make recommendations with regard to the collection and presentation of performance information.
To disseminate performance data to staff, Councillors, tenants representatives, the Chief Officers' Board and others at the frequency and in the manner required.
To train managers in the definitions and production of performance indicators to ensure that the process is delegated and automated as far as possible.
To establish reliable arrangements for ensuring the continued production of Performance indicators in the absence of the postholder.
To work with, and provide information to, the officer with corporate responsibility for the production of Performance Indicators.
To lead and co-ordinate the organisation's benchmarking activities – measuring its performance and processes with those of other comparable organisations.
To support membership of ‘Housemark' and other benchmarking clubs and organisations.
To maintain and develop the organisation's quality systems including records of all policies and procedures.
To prepare submissions for the external validation of the organisation's quality systems.

Qualifications/Skills Required

Previous Best Value Reviews experience ESSENTIAL
