Job Description
A world leader, this multi-disciplinary consultancy specialises in the provision of planning, design and management services for infrastructure development worldwide.
With interests in transportation, water and property, the company is usually undertaking commissions in over 70 countries at any one time via their extensive network of more than 60 offices and 3000 employees.
Their management structure and internal resources mean that they are able to deliver projects across the highways spectrum. The majority being large scale technically demanding design schemes, principally for the HA but they also deliver schemes for Local Authorities and a number of Private Developers.
Their strategy has been to recruit high quality candidates with a varied range of skills who can between them form a team capable of delivering projects that constantly exceed the expectations of their clients.
Offering a comfortable working environment within an easily accessible location they are proud of their employee initiatives and have an excellent staff retention record. This is, in part, also owing to their first class training programmes and a company culture that places employees at the heart of their business.
As a Principal Engineer you will have a lead role in project delivery helping to plan resources to ensure deadlines are met and projects delivered within budget.
You can expect to be managing multiple projects at any time and will act as a focal point for resolving any design issues.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Applicants will need to be professionally accredited (IEng / CEng / MICE) and will be able to show a wide scope of highways engineering experience, ideally on major HA commissions. It is important that you have a strong technical knowledge and a very good understanding of the DMRB and MCHW.
Your excellent organisation and communication skills will allow you to get the best from your colleagues and you will be comfortable supervising junior staff.
Other aspects of the role will include the requirement to take on client liaison responsibilities and you will need to be able to represent the company in a professional manner.
This role is most likely to suit an existing Senior Engineer looking for more project management responsibility and the next step on the career ladder.
