Job Description
A world leader in providing fully integrated technical consulting services to the international mining industry has an exciting opportunity for a principal environmental engineer/scientist.
The position is at Departmental Head level and the successful candidate will be expected to lead in the development of a specialised Mining GeoEnvironmental Team, bringing on new staff as required & providing mentoring & guidance to the team while managing key clients & high profile projects.
Candidates will be expected to have a minimum of 15 years experience, preferably including international projects in a variety of commodities. Frequent overseas travel will form a major part of the role & knowledge of foreign languages would be an advantage.
The projects include EIA, EMP and project permitting for feasibility studies; environmental due diligence review and audit for major project financing; technical assistance to operations; and closure & rehabilitation planning and implementation.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- 15 years experience, preferably including international projects in a variety of commodities
- Knowledge of foreign languages would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and technical report writing skills
