An exciting opportunity for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to take the next step in their career, by joining one of the leading Geotechnical and Environmental Consultancies in the country.
A Principal Geotechnical Engineer is required to join the ground technologies division of the North (Leeds based). You will join a busy team and will carry out geotechnical design tasks such as slope stability analysis, earth retaining structures, pile design, foundation parameters and retaining wall design etc. You will also have project management responsibilities, and be expected to mentor and train more junior staff.
You should be able to communicate effectively with clients and contractors, compile earthworks specifications, factual and interpretative reports, and finite element analysis.
Qualifications/Skills Required
To apply for the role of Principal Geotechnical Consultant you should be degree qualified to BSc (Hons) in Geology, B Eng Civil Engineering or a relevant environmental discipline. You should preferably hold an Msc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering. You should be able to log both rock and soil to BS 5930 and have experience of scheduling and testing to BS1377. You should be able to work to timescales and budgets.
You should be an out going, ambitious, self motivated team player with the ability to work on your own.
