An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to join an established Environmental Team in the role of Principal Site Investigation Specialist. Your role will involve both contaminated land and brownfield investigations, railway investigations, factual reporting, logging of soils and rock samples, desk studies and financial control of projects. You will also be required to mentor and train more junior staff.
Qualifications/Skills Required
To apply for the position of Principal Site Investigation Specialist you should be qualified to BSc (Hons) level in Geology or a relevant environmental / geotechnical discipline. A related MSc would be an advantage.
Previous experience should include extensive site investigation experience as well as the ability to log both soil and rock samples to BS5930. You should have previous experience of compiling factual and basic interpretative reports. You should be able to work to time scales and budgets and to communicate effectively with clients and contractors. You should have some previous experience of health and safety management and knowledge of Holebase III.
