Key Tasks:

The candidate will be responsible for programming process control systems used to control the sites’ chemical process plants. The work will be project based developing solutions to achieve continuous improvements in our systems and planned minor modifications. Additionally the role will require problems solving skills and will act as a support service to overcome immediate production and maintenance requirements. The candidate will be involved in providing technical services and expertise to our install base customers relating to our DCS product. This allows our customer assets to have high availability and to operate as efficiently as possible.
The candidate will also be involved in providing technical services and expertise to the install base customers relating to safety Shutdown systems such as Triconex ESD and HIMA products. This allows our customer assets to have high availability and to operate as efficiently as possible.
The work will be scheduled by the Team Leads in conjunction with the Service Engineer and the client counterpart engineers’ understanding of their principal account requirements. This position involves a significant amount of travelling, customer facing time and will interact with all aspects of the business including sales, proposals, project operations and management.
The Candidate will also be expected to:
Support in the preparation of Technical Proposals including development unit prices and non-recurring engineering costs.
The design and development of new projects to meet the customer requirements.
Recording all aspects of the project design actively participate in project scheduling and execution.
Hardware test and de-bugging both at company site and customer premises
Support of the Production Department in areas relating to the design and performance of production hardware
To prepare for and attend meetings with customers
To attend and support internal Design Reviews.
To supervise Technicians and/or more junior Engineers in the support of engineering projects
Must be flexible on travel
On-call emergency corrective maintenance and support including 24/7 rotation.
Preventative maintenance visits.
Site application support.
In-house application support.
Upgrade of legacy equipment to the latest offerings.
Delivery of all aspects of the maintenance contract.
Support performance service initiatives, e.g. Loop management & alarm management. Establish and maintain customer relations
Qualifications/Skills Required
Experience Required:
===============
+5 years relevant experience.
Administrator command of Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
Excellent use of Microsoft Office and equivalent packages (including MS Project)
Practical knowledge of IEC 61511,61508, and 61311 standards.
Mastering cause and effect matrices used on safety systems
Programming in C/C++, VB,VBA, Java, Pascal, XML Shell scripting in VBS, Korn-Shell, Bash,C-Shell, MS-PowerShell.
Programming for Real Time systems and Microcontrollers and embedded systems
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL, INTools databases.
Intimate knowledge of the ANSI/ISA-S5.1 Instrumentation Symbols and Identification standard
Exposure to Site experience –onshore / offshore on petrochemical sites.
Offshore certification a preference.
Installation, commissioning and site acceptance experience.
Understanding of Safety related control systems (i.e. ESD and F&G safety systems).
Experience with PLC based systems (e.g. Tricon, HIMA, Siemens, AB etc).
Experience with HMI based systems (e.g. Wonderware etc).
DCS Foxboro IA 6.x to 8.0 (unix and windows) experience
Experience performing Site Acceptance
Testing safety systems from client requirements.
Detailed knowledge of programmable controllers - ideally these should be Rockwell Automation PLC and SCADA systems.
Experience of Siemens PCS7 and Foxboro I/A Series would be of benefit.
