Job Description

Project Engineer (Geotechnical)

The company's standard package includes car/allowance which is given to certain levels of staff, 22 days holiday, share options (can be worth more than salary over time), a healthy (7%) pension contribution and insurances valued at £750.

A Geotechnical Project Engineer is required to join an office of 80 staff in Leeds. You will report directly to the Associate within the team and will take on responsibility for management and delivery of projects, with support from the Associate. You will manage existing client relationships and will also be encouraged to identify and pursue potential opportunities with new clients. From a technical perspective your role would be to undertake desk studies and ground investigations, complete detailed geotechnical designs, including foundations, substructures, slopes, earthworks, reinforced earth structures and also assess stability. You will also be involved in budgeting and cost control, production of tender documentation, report production and client liaison.

Qualifications/Skills Required

To apply for the position of Geotechnical Project Engineer you must be degree qualified in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or engineering geology. You should be a Chartered Engineer (or approaching Chartership) with a relevant professional institution and should have significant experience in geotechnical design, and project management. You will also be an experienced team leader and you should ideally have gained this experience in an engineering consultancy. You should be experienced in Geotechnical software and numerical analysis using Plaxis or Flac.
