Job Description

A London Borough is looking for 3 qualified social workers.
All Social workers should have a sound working knowledge within the child protection arena and ideally demonstrate an awareness of the particular issues presented by our particular client group and their families.

All social workers should ideally have their own transport as the team covers the whole of the Hounslow Borough.

Duty Social workers will be responsible to the Assistant team manager, and will be working on duty, reviewing cases that are open to review. Candidates will need to be able to prioritise tasks on duty whilst demonstrating a degree of flexibility in being available to meet unexpected demands of duty.

Duty workers will be completing initial assessments and will need to complete them within appropriate time scales:

„h Undertake initial assessments on new referrals
„h Undertake s47 investigations on new referrals, suspended cases and cases awaiting allocation
„h Undertake core assessment following a S 47 investigation
„h Undertake identified pieces of work on cases awaiting allocation
„h Undertake review assessments on suspended cases for the purpose of presenting to RAP for agreement for ongoing input of support packages

Long term worker will hold Looked after children's cases. Complex cases requiring a high level of input and sometimes requiring complex care packages. The Worker responsible for the Long term work must be child focused and Child Protection aware.

All must be experienced and 2 of them must be experienced in Child Protection. No newly qualified.

2 of the successful candidates will be working the duty system and one will deal with the longer term cases. Its the duty SW's who will need to have the most experience including CP.
